PROPERTYGURU ASIA AWARDS INTRODUCE ESG CATEGORIES

KUALA LUMPUR, April 2 (Bernama) --The PropertyGuru Asia Awards Malaysia, in partnership with iProperty, launched the 11th Annual PropertyGuru Asia Awards Malaysia with new honours for environmental, social, and corporate governance (ESG).

Malaysian developers and real estate projects are set to be honoured at the event to be held on Oct 25, 2024.

PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards and Events general manager Jules Kay said the awards have expanded this year to include five new categories, namely, Low Carbon Champion, Energy Efficient Champion, Sustainable Design Champion, Sustainable Construction Champion, and Social Impact Champion.

"These accolades acknowledge the sustainability endeavours and positive impact of premier developers, in line with Malaysia’s push towards attaining the 2030 sustainable development goals (SDGs).

"Our awards not only set the gold standard of real estate but also elevate the industry's commitment to environmental, social, and corporate responsibility, leading to a better future for stakeholders in the property sector,” he said in a statement.

Around 400 executives and senior professionals are expected to attend the event which will be held in Kuala Lumpur. 

Malaysia’s top winners will compete for regional accolades at the 19th PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards Grand Final 2024 in Bangkok, Thailand on Dec 13, 2024.

Meanwhile, Malaysia’s developers, projects and designs will compete with their counterparts from Australia, Cambodia, China, Hong Kong, Macau, Japan, India, Indonesia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam.

Malaysia had four regional victories at the 2023 Grand Final, led by Perbadanan Kemajuan Negeri Selangor (PKNS), winner of the Best Affordable Homes Developer (Asia) award.
