MELAKA, Nov 8 (Bernama) -- Datuk Azman Abidin’s wealth of experience in government administration would be a key asset in enabling him to provide quality service to the people of Paya Rumput if elected in the 16th Melaka state election, said PKR Advisory Council chairman Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail.
She said Azman, popularly known as Tok Man, also had a strong track record in every position he had held.
“I have known Tok Man for many years, dating back to his time as political secretary to the late Selangor Menteri Besar Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim… he is well-versed in government affairs and understands issues affecting both the people and the state.
“We hope voters will give him their mandate in the Melaka state election, as his extensive experience will enable Tok Man to serve the people of Paya Rumput well,” she said.
The Prime Minister's wife was speaking to reporters after attending a meet-and-greet session with the Paya Rumput state constituency's campaign team at the PH main operations room in Krubong here today.
Azman, the Prime Minister's political secretary, was also present.
Dr Wan Azizah, also Bandar Tun Razak MP, called on all PH campaign workers to intensify their efforts during the remaining campaign period to help the coalition win the Melaka polls.
“Do not be complacent. Continue working hard, urge as many voters as possible to cast their ballots on polling day, engage with voters and do your best to address any issues that may arise,” she said.
Dr Wan Azizah, accompanied by Azman, also visited a Deepavali open house in Cheng here.
Azman is facing a three-cornered contest against Rafie Ahmad of Perikatan Nasional and Abdul Rashid Abu Bakar of Parti Bersama Malaysia.
Melaka voters will go to the polls on Nov 14, with early voting on Nov 10.
