KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 20 (Bernama) -- Transport Expo Asia (TXA) 2026 brings together 410 exhibitors and technology innovators in an expanded showcase of transport solutions, alongside inaugural awards recognising leadership and achievements across the industry.
Themed “Future on the Move: Accelerating Next-Gen Transport”, the expo features a 15,000-square-metre exhibition space connecting industry players, government representatives and international partners.
Transport Minister Anthony Loke said the inaugural TXA Transport Excellence Awards 2026 had received 34 nominations across 10 categories spanning national leadership, innovation, engineering and sectoral achievements in land transport, rail, aviation, maritime and logistics.
“To uphold the credibility of these awards, all nominations were independently evaluated by an international adjudication panel,” he said when opening TXA 2026 at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC) here today.
Also present were Deputy Transport Minister Datuk Hasbi Habibollah and Transport Ministry secretary-general Datuk Seri Jana Santhiran Muniayan.
The panel comprises representatives from the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport, European Logistics Association, International Association of Public Transport, Malaysian Green Technology and Climate Change Corporation, and leading academic institutions.
On the awards, Loke said it recognised organisations demonstrating leadership in greener fleets, safety innovation, smart port efficiency and environmental, social and governance (ESG)-driven supply chains.
He noted that the nominees’ achievements offered lessons for the wider transport community and demonstrated how industry leadership could translate policy priorities into improvements for businesses and the public.
“Recognising these achievements would encourage more organisations to adopt best practices, strengthen performance and contribute to Malaysia’s development as a competitive regional transport hub,” he said.
Held from Oct 20 to 22, TXA 2026 builds on last year’s smaller inaugural edition, providing a dedicated platform to showcase transport technologies and strengthen industry cooperation.
