MELAKA, Oct 15 (Bernama) -- The Armed Forces Fund Board (LTAT) has allocated RM1.05 million to implement the MADANI Adopted School Programme 2026, benefiting 42 Religious Primary Schools (SRA) and Al-Quran and Fardu Ain classes (KAFA) in military camps nationwide.
LTAT chief executive Datuk Mohammad Ashraf Md Radzi said the programme was officially launched by Defence Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin in conjunction with his official visit to Terendak Camp here today.
“Building on the success of the programme’s implementation in 2025, which involved 38 primary and secondary schools in Malaysian Armed Forces (MAF) camps, this year’s initiative focuses on improving the infrastructure of religious schools and KAFA classes to provide a more comfortable and conducive learning environment.
“This effort is in line with the MADANI Government’s aspiration to strengthen access to quality education and improve the people’s standard of living, including the families of military personnel,” he said.
He said that under the programme, LTAT had allocated RM35,000 to upgrade prayer room facilities to provide a more comfortable environment.
“As a fund management institution under the Ministry of Defence, LTAT has a clear mandate, but our responsibilities extend beyond managing the savings and retirement funds of ATM personnel.
“We believe that their well-being also encompasses the welfare of their families and the future of their children. Therefore, through the MADANI Adopted School Programme and the MADANI Community Support Camp Programme, we are committed to providing better educational facilities and community infrastructure to improve the quality of life of ATM personnel and their families,” he said.
He also expressed his deepest appreciation to the Finance Ministry, the Defence Ministry and the MAF for their support and cooperation in ensuring the success of the MADANI Adopted School Programme.
“In line with the aspirations of GEAR-uP, this initiative reflects LTAT’s commitment to strengthening the well-being of ATM personnel and their families by providing a better educational environment for the future of the next generation,” he said.
Meanwhile, Mohamed Khaled said in the same statement that efforts to improve the well-being of ATM personnel must encompass not only the welfare of serving members but also the needs of their families, particularly in education and everyday living facilities.
“MAF personnel shoulder a tremendous responsibility in safeguarding the country’s security and sovereignty. Therefore, it is the responsibility of the Defence Ministry’s ecosystem, including LTAT, to ensure that their families’ welfare, particularly their children’s education, receives due attention.
“Programmes such as the MADANI Adopted School Programme demonstrate that efforts to improve the people’s well-being require comprehensive cooperation between the government, agencies and the corporate sector.
“I hope this initiative will not only provide a better learning environment but also create more opportunities for the children of ATM personnel to build a brighter future,” he said.
During the visit, Mohamed Khaled also inspected the Melaka Islamic Religious Department (JAIM) at the camp, which is one of the schools adopted by LTAT under the programme.
During a separate visit to Sungai Udang Camp, Mohamed Khaled also inspected the implementation site of the MADANI Community Support Camp Programme and officiated at the handover of a RM110,000 contribution to upgrade gymnasium facilities for military personnel residing at the camp.
The MADANI Community Support Camp Programme 2026 continues an initiative implemented the previous year, and was launched by the Defence Minister in conjunction with the LTAT Wira Tour 2026: East Coast Edition at the Kuantan Royal Malaysian Air Force Base on July 13, with an allocation of RM600,000.
Through this programme, LTAT and its group of companies are focusing on improving basic amenities and community infrastructure at six MAF camps to create a more comfortable and higher-quality living environment for personnel and their families.
