TH RCI Report: Zulkifli Focuses On Comprehensive Actions

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 30 (Bernama) -- Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs) Dr Zulkifli Hasan is focusing on ensuring firm and comprehensive follow-up actions are taken on the Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) report on Tabung Haji (TH) after appearing before the Parliamentary Public Accounts Committee (PAC).

He said the move was crucial to protect the trust of millions of depositors and safeguard the sanctity of Islamic assets.

“The main focus at this juncture is to ensure that follow-up actions on the TH RCI Report are completed in a firm and comprehensive manner,” he said in a Facebook post.

Zulkifli said he had reviewed all relevant documents, including the Tabung Haji Act and the RCI Report, before attending the more than two-hour session.

He described his first appearance before PAC as similar to a PhD viva voce - an oral examination where researchers defend their dissertations before an assessment panel, as various questions were raised by committee members.

“Thankfully, this preparation enabled me to answer the questions raised calmly and confidently, with Allah’s will and permission,” he said.
