GOPENG, Sept 20 (Bernama) -- The MADANI Kita Programme (PMK) provides a face-to-face engagement platform for the public to obtain information and clarification directly, while allowing the government to better understand their concerns and needs.

Community Communications Department (J-KOM) deputy director-general (Management) Kafrawi Ridzuan Tarmizi said the approach ensures government policies and initiatives are not only communicated effectively but also understood and their benefits felt in the daily lives of the people.

He said J-KOM played a strategic role as a bridge between the government and the public by ensuring communication was not one-way, while providing space for people to share their views and raise issues.

“Effective communication is not merely about ensuring information reaches the people, but also allowing them to feel heard, understood and given attention regarding the issues they face,” he said.at  the PMK for Teja state constituency (DUN) held at  Gopeng Municipal Hall here today.

The programme was officiated by Perak Housing and Local Government Committee chairman, who is also Teja assemblyman Sandrea Ng Shy Ching.

Meanwhile, Kafrawi said PMK’s strength also lies in the cooperation among ministries, departments and government agencies, allowing the public to access various information and services through a single platform.

He said the approach was in line with this year’s National Day theme, “Malaysia MADANI: Kesejahteraan Dinikmati”, which emphasises translating well-being into the lives of the people, creating value for communities and building confidence in national development.

Kafrawi urged residents of DUN Teja and Gopeng parliamentary constituency to utilise PMK to obtain information and services, share views and raise local issues with the relevant ministries and agencies.

He said community participation in such programmes was important to ensure government policies and initiatives reflected the actual circumstances and needs at the grassroots level.
