BANGKOK, Sept 19 (Bernama) -- The Embassy of Malaysia in Bangkok is hosting Rasa Malaysia 2026 to showcase the country’s diverse culture, gastronomy, tourism and business opportunities, while providing a platform to further strengthen people-to-people and business-to-business ties between Malaysia and Thailand.
Malaysian Ambassador to Thailand Datuk Wan Zaidi Wan Abdullah said the two-day event, which began today in Song Wat, Bangkok’s historic riverside district, is expected to attract more than 15,000 visitors to experience Malaysian products and cuisine.
“Over these two days, we hope to deliver a little part of Malaysia to Bangkok by bringing together our culture, gastronomy, tourism, lifestyle and business in one unique experience,” he said in his opening speech at Soul Song Wat here on Saturday.
Wan Zaidi said Malaysian cuisine, which reflects the country’s rich multicultural heritage, is an important component of Rasa Malaysia, featuring dishes ranging from nasi lemak and roti canai to traditional snacks, desserts and beverages.
He said the event, themed “Your Malaysian Escape Starts Here”, also provides Thai, diplomatic and international visitors an opportunity to appreciate not only Malaysian flavours but also the stories, traditions and people behind the country’s food.
On business ties, Wan Zaidi said Malaysia-Thailand relations were built not only on government-to-government cooperation but also on people-to-people and business-to-business connections.
“Rasa Malaysia provides a platform for Malaysian brands and businesses to meet Thai consumers, entrepreneurs, industry players and potential partners,” he said.
He expressed hope that the interactions at the event would create new relationships and opportunities, ultimately leading to stronger business linkages between the two countries.
In conjunction with Visit Malaysia 2026, Wan Zaidi said the event also supported Malaysia’s efforts to attract more visitors this year and beyond.
