MELAKA, Sept 16 (Bernama) -- The Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia (LHDN) spent RM500,000 from a Ministry of Finance allocation on various initiatives for residents of Kampung Bukit Terendak here under the MADANI Adopted Village Programme (KAM).
In a statement today, LHDN said the projects included developing the Kampung Bukit Terendak Recreation Park, providing equipment for the community hall, and supplying hospital beds and wheelchairs for community use.
“The recreation park provides a more comfortable space for leisure and recreational activities, benefiting people of all ages, including children, youths, families and senior citizens,” it said.
The completed projects were officially handed over yesterday during LHDN’s visit to Kampung Bukit Terendak to inspect the facilities provided under KAM.
Present were LHDN Corporate Services director Shahrul Niza Bishahrin and Melaka state director Datuk Mohd Shahriz Ramli.
LHDN also engaged with residents to gather their views on local needs and ensure the initiatives continue to benefit the community.
Community activities held included aerobics, health screenings, activities for children, a Malaysia Day colouring competition and the presentation of LHDN Prihatin contributions.
Introduced under Budget 2024, KAM adopts a whole-of-government approach involving ministries, government agencies, local authorities and community leaders to improve access to basic and community facilities while addressing the development needs of identified villages.
