10 Perak NGOs Receive RM117,000 Donation From Tambun MP

IPOH, Sept 17 (Bernama) -- A total of 10 non-governmental organisations (NGOs) in Perak received a total contribution of RM117,000 to enable them to carry out various community activities and programmes.

Muhammad Kamil Abdul Munim, who is political secretary to Prime Minister and Finance Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, the Tambun member of parliament (MP), said the contributions were channelled based on applications submitted by each of the organisations.

"We hope that the allocation provided can be utilised and used as best as possible for the benefit of the community and also the local communities in their respective areas," he said when met after the Prime Minister's Allocation Cheque Presentation Ceremony to various NGOs here today.

Among the recipients are the Pertubuhan Proaktif Rakyat Parlimen Tambun, which received RM25,000 to fund the implementation of the 2026 Community Programme, and the Kelab Muda Mudi Inspirasi Ulu Kinta, which received RM20,000 for the implementation of the Rise of Tambun Programme. 

In addition, Persatuan Penganut Dewi Muthumariamman received (RM12,000) and Surau Kampung Sayong Hilir Kuala Kangsar received RM8,000 to fund the implementation of the Jaulah Mahabbah Ukhuwah Fillah 2026 programme while Persatuan Kebajikan Komuniti Penyayang Kuala Kangsar Perak received RM10,000 to fund the implementation of the Kaligrafi Cina Huixiezhongqiu Piala Perak 2026. 

Meanwhile, Muhammad Kamil said the bilateral meetings of Anwar with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, as well as leaders of BRICS member countries recently, reflect Malaysia's good relations with BRICS member countries.

"I can say that this visit was very successful and we gained many benefits from the meetings, discussions, and also the good bilateral relations between Malaysia and the involved BRICS member countries," he said.

Anwar held bilateral meetings with his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi as well as Putin during a working visit to India to attend the 18th BRICS Leaders' Summit in New Delhi on Sept 11.

Meanwhile, Muhammad Kamil, who is also Angkatan Muda Keadilan (AMK) chief, condemned the actions of certain government leaders who made political statements that seemed to attack the Prime Minister.

"I do not deny that there are certain groups deliberately trying to create political instability to fulfil the interests and desires of specific leadership groups within their respective parties.

"However, we assure the people that the government today, particularly the Prime Minister, remains committed to ensuring that all policies and plans can be implemented for the benefit and welfare of the people as a whole," he added.
