308 Sungai Buloh Students Receive RM113,500 In Higher Education Aid

SUNGAI BULOH,  Sept 5  (Bernama) -- A total of 308 students in the Sungai Buloh parliamentary constituency received Higher Education Institution (IPT) Initial Study Aid amounting to RM113,500 to help ease the financial burden on them and their families during their studies.

The students, who are at various levels of study, including foundation, matriculation, Sijil Tinggi Pelajaran Malaysia (STPM), diploma, Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) certificate and bachelor’s degree programmes, received the aid from the Political Secretary to the Human Resources Minister, Aizuddin Abd Gaffal, at a ceremony held here today.

It was held in conjunction with the Skills Development Fund Corporation (PTPK) Care Carnival here today.

One of the recipients, Muhammad Shafitri Suzaiman Muhamad Fazli, 18, said he would use the aid to help his parents pay the Parent-Teacher Association (PIBG) fees and purchase study workbooks.

“This aid is a great help to me and my family, ” said the Form Six student of SMK Bukit Gading when met by Bernama.

Another recipient, Soong Xin U, 18, said she would use the aid to purchase workbooks and reference materials to help her prepare for the STPM examination.

Meanwhile, the PTPK Care Carnival served as a platform for PTPK to engage with the community and raise awareness of its role in providing financing for education and skills training, particularly through the TVET pathway.

Various services and community activities were offered to the local community, including a PTPK information counter, an Unclaimed Money counter, “Jualan Rahmah”, health screenings, oil change services, haircuts, fitness activities and fun games.

The carnival also featured firefighting exhibitions and demonstrations, a cultural exhibition, a blood donation drive, a “Santai PTPK” session, food truck sales, a surau-focused corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme, as well as the distribution of free coffee and ice cream.
