KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 5 (Bernama) -- More than RM500,000 has been allocated to support education in the Sungai Buloh parliamentary constituency, aimed at ensuring financial constraints do not deter young people from pursuing further studies.
Sungai Buloh Member of Parliament Datuk Seri R. Ramanan said the allocation covered various forms of educational assistance, including aid for students at public and private higher education institutions, Back to School programmes, motivational workshops, Excellence Days, support for Parent-Teacher Associations (PIBG) and school development.
To date, 308 students from the constituency have received Early Higher Education Assistance, involving a total of RM113,500 to ease the financial burden of preparations before entering university, he said.
“The education of Sungai Buloh children is always close to my heart, regardless of how big or small the assistance provided is. What matters more is that when a child gets an opportunity to study, we must ensure financial constraints do not dampen their spirit to continue the journey,” he said in a Facebook post today.
Ramanan, who is also Human Resources Minister, urged aid recipients to make full use of the opportunity to pursue higher education to develop their potential and skills.
He assured that efforts to create more opportunities in education, training and skills development in the constituency would continue to be strengthened for the well-being of the local community.
“Make the most of this opportunity. Going to university is not merely about pursuing a degree. This is the time to gain knowledge, develop skills, learn to be independent and discover your potential,” he said.
Ramanan also spent time at the Skills Development Fund Corporation (PTPK) Care Carnival in Sungai Buloh, organised to provide various services and community activities for local residents.
The carnival also featured a PTPK information counter, Rahmah Sales, health screenings, a blood donation campaign and community activities.
