KUANTAN, Sept 2 (Bernama) -- Yayasan Pahang Commercial Centre (YPCC) is expected to become a steady source of income for Yayasan Pahang, generating about RM4.8 million a year in rental revenue, said Pahang Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail.
He said the amount was a direct return from the development of the centre, in addition to indirect benefits such as savings in time and energy for consumers.
"Of course, there is revenue, but we do not yet know the overall total. For the tangible yield, from rentals alone we earn about RM4.8 million a year," he told reporters after officiating YPCC Tanjung Lumpur here today.
The event also witnessed the exchange of eight memoranda of understanding (MoUs) between Yayasan Pahang and related companies.
Wan Rosdy said the 24.8-acre commercial centre brings together various facilities and services that will make it easier for consumers to obtain their necessities without having to visit several different locations.
"It combines three main components, namely the Commercial Zone, Automotive Zone and RIMBUN (various business segments), which encompass retail, automotive, food and beverage, services and lifestyle," he said.
Commenting on the potential entry of more companies, Wan Rosdy said each application would be evaluated based on studies and set criteria to ensure the development of YPCC was implemented in a planned manner.
