KUANTAN, Aug 21 (Bernama) -- The growing appeal of Kuantan as a coastal lifestyle destination is opening new opportunities for property buyers seeking a private beachfront escape, with OSK Ombak offering freehold residences overlooking Balok Beach.
OSK Property chief executive officer Chu Wai Lune said Kuantan’s growth, supported by the East Coast Rail Link (ECRL), which is expected to be fully operational in January 2027, would reduce travel time between Kuala Lumpur and Kuantan to less than two hours, making weekend trips more convenient while potentially boosting demand for short-stay accommodation.
“The ECRL and the continued expansion of the Malaysia-China Kuantan Industrial Park (MCKIP) and Kuantan Port are real game changers for Kuantan.
“They will not only make it easier to get around and improve trade flows, but also drive long-term growth and demand for quality developments like OSK Ombak along the coast,” he said in a statement.
OSK Property said OSK Ombak offers residents direct access to Balok Beach, allowing the coastal lifestyle to become part of their daily routine rather than an occasional holiday.
“With Malaysia’s mixed weekend setup, some states off on Friday-Saturday and others on Saturday-Sunday, there’s a wider travel window for people to plan getaways,” the statement read.
The company said the development features 43 Mediterranean-inspired facilities, including cascading swimming pools, water play areas, a Ninja Park obstacle course, Beanie Lawn, pickleball court, games room, karaoke room, barbecue lounge and gymnasium.
“The spacious Riviera Lawn can host corporate functions, team-building activities and outdoor celebrations, while The Point Horizon Terrace provides another dedicated space for events and gatherings,” the statement said.
OSK Property said Phase 1 of OSK Ombak sold out within three months, prompting the company to bring forward the Phase 2 launch by 18 months in response to strong market demand.
The final release of Phase 2 is currently open for sale, with prices starting from RM380,000, subject to terms and conditions.
The development comprises fully furnished homes ranging from 450 sq ft to 1,026 sq ft, with one-, two- and three-bedroom layouts, while all units except the 450-square-foot studio feature dual-key configurations.
“To elevate the experience even further, selected units feature balconies complete with a jacuzzi, making quiet mornings or evening breezes by the coast feel extra special,” the statement read.
The statement said OSK Ombak also comprises nine retail units, with suitable tenants such as convenience stores and food and beverage outlets planned to serve residents and visitors.
For owners who are away from the property, the development provides access to third-party professional short-stay management services to help maintain their homes.
Interested buyers can visit the OSK Ombak sales gallery in Kuantan or the sales kiosk at Atria Shopping Gallery in Petaling Jaya, or register their interest through oskombak.com or contact the sales team at 011-2802 8000.
