ISTANBUL, Aug 24 (Bernama-Anadolu) -- Mohamed Salah scored his first goals for Turkish club Trabzonspor on Saturday, netting twice in a 2-1 victory over Istanbul Basaksehir that gave the Black Sea team their first win of the season, Anadolu Ajansi reported.
The Egyptian forward opened the score at Papara Park in the eighth minute before striking again three minutes after halftime to put the hosts firmly in control.
The brace came in Salah's third official appearance for Trabzonspor following his high-profile summer move to the Turkish club.
The 33-year-old made his debut as a 58th-minute substitute in a 1-1 away draw against Kasimpasa on the opening weekend of the Super Lig.
He was then handed his first start in Thursday's UEFA Europa League playoff first leg against Ferencvaros, which Trabzonspor lost 1-0 at home after Kristoffer Zachariassen scored the only goal in the 17th minute.
Salah appeared to complete a hat-trick in stoppage time, but the goal was ruled out for a foul. He found the net again moments later, only for that effort to be disallowed for offside.
The victory secured Trabzonspor's first three points of the new Super Lig campaign and also marked their first win in all competitions this season.
