KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 6 (Bernama) -- The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a warning for thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds in Perlis, Kedah, Penang, Perak, Sarawak and Sabah until 4 pm today.
In a statement, MetMalaysia said the warning covered Langkawi, Kubang Pasu, Yan, Kota Setar and Kuala Muda in Kedah, as well as Kerian in Perak, while the whole of Penang and Perlis were affected.
In Sarawak, the areas involved are Matu, Dalat and Mukah in Mukah; Tatau and Bintulu in Bintulu; Subis, Miri and Marudi in Miri; Lundu in Kuching; and Limbang.
In Sabah, the affected areas are Tambunan, Membakut, Keningau and Beaufort in the Interior; Ranau, Tuaran, Kota Kinabalu, Penampang, Papar and Kota Belud on the West Coast; Kalabakan, Tawau and Lahad Datu in Tawau; and Kota Marudu in Kudat.
