KEDA College Aims To Expand Its Green Technology Training Programme

SIK, Nov 6 (Bernama) -- KEDA College, a skills training institution under the Kedah Regional Development Authority (KEDA), aims to expand its green technology training programme to empower the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) initiative in the college.

KEDA chairman Datuk Seri Mahdzir Khalid said this is following the college's success in producing many TVET graduates and achieving up to 96 per cent in graduate marketability.

"KEDA's collaboration with about 30 strategic partners has also boosted the marketability of graduates in the job market.

"KEDA now aspires to venture into the field of green technology… it is still at the internal discussion level. There are companies interested in collaborating, but several matters need to be scrutinised because it involves costs, space (workshops) and equipment,” he told reporters after officiating the MADANI@Kolej KEDA TVET Carnival here today.

He added that KEDA will collaborate with strategic partners in every field it ventures into to ensure the marketability of its graduates.

According to Mahdzir, such collaborations will allow the students to undergo industrial training at companies that become strategic partners and, if they (the students) meet the stipulated conditions, they may be offered jobs at the companies once they complete their studies.

Meanwhile, he said the three-day MADANI@Kolej KEDA TVET Carnival, which began yesterday, offers various exciting events, including exhibitions, demonstrations, skills competitions, a tech-entrepreneurs zone, as well as employment opportunities through open interviews and upskilling programmes.
