KUALA LUMPUR, June 24 (Bernama) -- The Survivor’s Pension benefit from the Social Security Organisation (Perkeso) now stands as a final act of love from the late Berita Harian entertainment desk assistant editor Raja Nurfatimah Mawar Mohamed to her mother, Katijah Muda, 69.
Although she passed away last Sunday, Raja Nurfatimah Mawar’s contributions to Perkeso have enabled her mother to receive a monthly pension of over RM1,300, ensuring continued financial support.
Perkeso group chief executive officer Datuk Seri Dr Mohammed Azman Aziz Mohammed said her death was a significant loss not only to her family but also to the Malaysian media industry, which she had served with dedication for over 30 years.
“Thanks to her employer’s commitment to making contributions, we are able to honour the late Raja Nurfatimah Mawar’s wish to care for her mother through this benefit. We hope it helps ease the burden and provide comfort during this difficult time,” he said in a statement today.
Yesterday, Perkeso handed over a funeral management benefit voucher and the official notification of the Survivor’s Pension to her family during a Ziarah Prihatin visit led by Terengganu Perkeso director Suhara Mustaffa.
Raja Nurfatimah Mawar, 49, died at her home in Sungai Long, Kajang, Selangor, on Sunday after complaining of fatigue and breathing difficulties. She was laid to rest at the Pasir Panjang Muslim Cemetery in Kuala Terengganu the following day.
