KUALA LUMPUR, May 27 (Bernama) -- The Malaysian Armed Forces (MAF) has expressed its utmost gratitude and appreciation for the decree issued by the Regent of Johor Tunku Mahkota Ismail Sultan Ibrahim, who voiced unwavering support for the Armed Forces in strengthening the country’s defence preparedness.

In a statement today, the Armed Forces said the support was demonstrated through the Johor government’s provision of space for the implementation of military exercises in the state.

It added that the decree reflects a strong strategic synergy between the royal institution, the state government, and the armed forces.

“At the same time, the Armed Forces also extends its highest appreciation for His Royal Highness the Regent of Johor’s assurance to continue welcoming and caring for armed forces’ veterans, which will undoubtedly further boost the morale of service personnel.

“The recognition of the sacrifices made by military veterans proves that their contributions continue to be deeply valued,” it said.

Meanwhile, the MAF stressed that it always operates in accordance with the rule of law and, as such, its national defence mandate is carried out holistically beyond geographical boundaries.

“Consistent and realistic training in actual field environments is a mandatory prerequisite in strengthening the tactical competency of Armed Forces personnel, while ensuring that the country’s defence readiness remains at the highest level,” it said.

It added that it will continue to focus its resources and expertise on the core objectives of national defence.

The MAF also reaffirmed its professionalism and pledged to always place the safety of the people and the sovereignty of the nation as its utmost priorities under the reign of His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia.
