Slight Increase In Number Of Flood Evacuees In Beaufort

KOTA KINABALU, Feb 14 (Bernama) -- The number of flood victims in Beaufort increased to 312 people from 121 families as of 8 am today, compared to 304 people from 130 families yesterday.

The Sabah State Disaster Management Secretariat said all evacuees have been placed at the Selagon permanent relief centre.

"Eight villages in the district have been affected by floods since Thursday, following continuous heavy rain,” it said in a statement today.

Meanwhile, the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has forecast rain in the morning, thunderstorms in the afternoon and rain at night in the interiors of Sabah.
