30 Houses In Johor Water Village Destroyed In Fire

JOHOR BAHRU, Feb 12 (Bernama) -- A total of 30 houses were destroyed in a fire at a water village near Jalan Dedaru 11, Kampung Teluk Jawa here today.

Pasir Gudang Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) chief Firdaus Ahmad said the department received an emergency call at 7.04 am, prompting the deployment of 28 personnel in three engines to the scene.

He said the fire affected temporary structures built with wooden walls, zinc roofing and plank flooring.

“The fire destroyed about 90 per cent of the 30 houses and also damaged two boats, a car and six motorcycles,” he said in a statement.

However, he said no casualties were reported in the incident.
