KUALA LUMPUR, May 26 (Bernama) -- Malaysia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has confirmed that one of the two Malaysian nationals affected by the building collapse in Angeles, Philippines, on May 24, 2026, has died.
In a statement, the ministry said the next of kin of the individual had been notified, and that the Embassy of Malaysia in Manila was providing the necessary consular assistance to the family, including facilitating funerary arrangements.
The ministry extended its heartfelt condolences to the family of the deceased during this difficult time.
The other victim affected by the incident was reported safe and unharmed.
The Malaysian embassy in Manila has provided the necessary consular assistance to the survivor.
The ministry also expressed its appreciation to the relevant authorities in the Philippines for their assistance and cooperation.
It reiterated its commitment to safeguarding the welfare and safety of Malaysian citizens abroad.
