Bus, Ambulance Collide In Bangladesh, Five Killed

DHAKA, May 24 (Bernama-Xinhua) -- A head-on collision between a passenger bus and an ambulance on Sunday in Faridpur district, left five people dead, reported Xinhua.

Md Nazrul Islam, superintendent of police in Faridpur district, said that the collision took place at around 10.20 am on a highway, about 101 kilometres away from the capital Dhaka.

He further said, "Five victims, all from the ambulance and including the driver, died on the spot."

The accident also injured several bus passengers, who were rushed to a local hospital, said the official.

The cause of the accident was not immediately known.
