DOHA, May 4 (Bernama-Sputnik/RIA Novosti) -- The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has withdrawn from the Kuwait-based Organisation of Arab Petroleum Exporting Countries (OAPEC), the OAPEC said on Sunday, Sputnik/RIA Novosti reported.
The UAE had previously exited OPEC and the OPEC+ alliance.
“The General Secretariat of OAPEC was informed of a letter from UAE Energy Minister Suhail Al Mazrouei to the chairman of the current session of the OAPEC Council of Ministers, announcing the UAE’s decision to withdraw from the organisation effective May 1, 2026,” the statement said.
