NEW YORK, April 21 (Bernama-Xinhua) -- The US dollar weakened in late trading on Monday, Xinhua reported.
The dollar index, which measures the greenback against six major peers, dropped to 98.097 at 3 pm (1900 GMT).
In late New York trading, the euro lost to US$1.1782 from US$1.179 in the previous session, and the British pound dropped to US$1.3536 from US$1.3544 in the previous session.
The US dollar bought 158.87 Japanese yen, higher than 158.24 Japanese yen of the previous session. The US dollar was down to 0.7786 Swiss francs from 0.7801 Swiss francs, and decreased to 1.3643 Canadian dollars from 1.3676 Canadian dollars. The US dollar declined to 9.1269 Swedish kronor from 9.1396 Swedish kronor.
