ISTANBUL, April 3 (Bernama-Anadolu) -- Kyrgyzstan sent 129 tonnes of humanitarian aid to Iran, including 66 tonnes of food and 63 tonnes of medicine, amid the ongoing war, Anadolu Ajansi (AA) reported, citing an announcement by the Kyrgyz Emergency Situations Ministry on Friday.

The aid includes flour, canned meat, vegetable oil, and essential medications, the ministry said.

“This aid is intended to support affected civilians,” it added.

West Asia has been on alert since the United States (US) and Israel launched an air offensive on Iran on Feb 28, killing more than 1,340 people so far, including then-Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.

Iran has retaliated with drone and missile strikes targeting Israel, along with Jordan, Iraq and Gulf countries hosting US military assets, causing casualties and damage to infrastructure while disrupting global markets and aviation.
