Iranian Attack On Kuwaiti Power And Desalination Plant Kills Worker, Causes Major Damage

30/03/2026 08:36 AM

ISTANBUL, March 30 (Bernama-Anadolu) -- An Iranian attack late Sunday on a service building at a power generation and water desalination plant in Kuwait killed a worker and caused major material damage, the country’s Electricity Ministry said early Monday.

The ministry said the fatality was an Indian national, Anadolu Ajansi reported.

It said the strike caused extensive damage to infrastructure at the facility.

Technical and emergency teams were immediately dispatched under emergency plans to deal with the aftermath of the attack and ensure operations continue normally, the ministry said.

It added that authorities are coordinating with security agencies and relevant bodies to secure the damaged site.

Regional escalations have continued to rage since Israel and the US launched an offensive against Iran on Feb 28, killing more than 1,340 people to date, including then-Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

Iran has retaliated with drone and missile strikes targeting Israel, Jordan, Iraq and Gulf countries hosting US military assets, causing casualties and damage to infrastructure while disrupting global markets and aviation.
