JAKARTA, March 25 (Bernama) -- Indonesia’s 2026 Haj pilgrimage will proceed as scheduled despite the ongoing conflict in West Asia, with authorities confirming that preparations and travel arrangements remain unaffected.
Haj and Umrah Minister Mochamad Irfan Yusuf said all aspects of the pilgrimage, including accommodation and transportation, have been well arranged, with the first batch of pilgrims set to depart on April 22.
“As of now, everything is still on schedule. Hopefully, there will be no changes until the departure on April 22,” he said, according to ANTARA News Agency on Tuesday.
Mochamad Irfan added that funding is in place to meet all operational needs, noting that direct flights to Saudi Arabia remain available and unaffected by the evolving geopolitical situation.
“We are always in communication with the Saudi Ministry of Hajj team, and as of today, they have stated that there are no changes to the schedule,” he said.
He also assured that Umrah pilgrimages continue to proceed safely, with strict oversight to ensure pilgrims return as scheduled.
Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia’s Ambassador to Indonesia Faisal bin Abdullah Al-Amudi confirmed that the 2026 Haj pilgrimage would proceed safely and as planned despite the conflict.
“Alhamdulillah, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia remains safe up to this point,” he said, according to ANTARA News Agency.
