TEHRAN, Mar. 10 (Bernama-MNA) – Bahraini news sources have reported the crash of a Patriot interceptor missile belonging to the American defence system onto residential homes in the Arab country, resulting in the injury of several civilians, Mehr News Agency (MNA) reported.
Bahraini media said on Monday that a Patriot missile belonging to the US air defence system deployed in the country suffered a technical malfunction and fell onto the homes of Bahraini citizens.
This incident, which left several injured, occurred following the activation of defence systems to counter missile and drone attacks that had targeted US bases in the region, including the Isa Air Base in southern Bahrain, since Sunday night.
Bahraini media reported that the deployment of US Patriot systems among residential areas and close to civilian neighbourhoods stems from Washington’s fear of these systems being targeted by advanced Iranian missiles.
