Drone Incident Temporarily Disrupts Air Traffic At Oslo Airport

13/12/2025 11:47 PM

BRUSSELS, Dec 13 (Bernama-Anadolu) --Two incoming flights at Oslo Airport were temporarily redirected on Saturday after a drone was flown near the airport, Anadolu Ajansi reported, citing public broadcaster NRK.

Operations manager Rune Isaksen said two aircraft approaching the airport were redirected to another runway due to drone activity near Gardermoen.

Police said they are in contact with the drone pilot and have taken control of both the drone and its operator.

Authorities are expected to provide further information as the investigation continues.

Avinor press officer Karoline Pedersen told the broadcaster that the drone was observed near the western runway, prompting airport officials to alert the police.

“This meant that we redirected two incoming planes to another runway,” Pedersen said, adding that air traffic has since returned to normal and that there was “no major drama.”

Pedersen noted that there is a five-kilometre (3.1-mile) exclusion zone around Oslo Airport and that police are notified whenever drones are detected within this area, adding that it remains unclear how close the drone was to the runway.
