1.INDONESIA REVIEWS PARTIAL RESTART OF FREEPORT MINING AREAS -- JAKARTA GLOBE

Indonesia is reviewing whether Freeport Indonesia may resume operations at mining areas unaffected by the September 2025 landslide, Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Bahlil Lahadalia said Monday, as the government seeks to limit the economic fallout from the shutdown.

1.COMMUNITY-BASED FISHING PROJECT IN LUANG PRABANG -- VIENTIANE TIMES

A sustainable fishing project aimed at managing fish stocks in Luang Prabang villages was implemented with support from Thailand’s Mae Cho University and Souphanouvong University in Laos. The project will promote alternative livelihoods and mitigate the impacts of climate change.

 

2.ECONOMY SET TO GROW BY 4.8 PER CENT IN 2025 -- VIENTIANE TIMES 

The government remains confident that the economy will grow by 4.8 per cent this year, despite facing both domestic and external challenges. Improvements in agricultural production, electricity generation, mining, transport, and tourism are driving the economic growth.

1.ANNUAL GEM EXHIBITION KICKS-OFF IN NOVEMBER -- THE GLOBAL NEW LIGHT OF MYANMAR 

The 60th edition of Myanma Gems Emporium is scheduled to take place at the Maniyadana Jade Hall in Nay Pyi Taw from November 17 to 26. Myanmar’s pearl, jade and gems will be showcased at the event, including auctions. 

 

2.RUSSIAN PACIFIC FLEET ARRIVES FOR NAVAL EXERCISE -- THE GLOBAL NEW LIGHT OF MYANMAR 

The Russian Pacific Fleet’s frigate anchored at Thilawa Port in Yangon yesterday for the third Myanmar-Russia joint naval security exercise and a goodwill visit. During their visit, the Russians will tour Yangon, participate in sports and conduct harbour-phase exercises.

The Philippines’ Senate Committee on Migrant Workers Chairperson Raffy Tulfo on Monday called for the establishment of a Migrant Workers Relations Commission (MWRC), a separate quasi-judicial body that will handle labor disputes involving overseas Filipino workers (OFWs).

Apple will not release the next version of the iPhone Air in the fall of 2026 as previously planned, amid weak sales, the Information reported on Nov 10, citing sources familiar with the matter.

1. CYBER POLICE AND AMLO RAID 36 LOCATIONS LINKED TO LY YONG PHAT -- THE NATION Cybercrime police and AMLO raided 36 sites in Bangkok and Trat, seizing assets worth over 90 million baht linked to Cambodian tycoon Ly Yong Phat and associates.

 

2. EXCESSIVE RAINFALL FILLING UP MANY DAMS NATIONWIDE -- BANGKOK POST Many large dams and reservoirs across Thailand are currently close to or exceeding their full water storage capacities due to continuous rainfall, the Royal Irrigation Department (RID) announced on Monday.

1.BA LON CANAL UPGRADING TO COST RM1.5 BILLION -- VIETNAMPLUS

Ho Chi Minh City plans a RM1.5 billion (US$370 million) project to dredge and upgrade the Ba Lon Canal to curb flooding. The canal is one of the city’s seven key drainage arteries.

 

2. VIETNAM-INDIA UN PEACEKEEPING EXERCISE IN HANOI -- VIETNAM NEWS 

The Vietnam-India Bilateral Exercise 2025, focused on field-based United Nations (UN) peacekeeping training, will take place at the National Military Training Centre 4 in Hanoi from November 11 to 27. Apbout 300 officers are expected to participate.
