INDONESIA

 

1.I’M TAKING RESPONSIBILITY FOR WHOOSH, PRABOWO SAYS -- THE JAKARTA POST

President Prabowo Subianto has insisted that responsibility for the debt incurred by the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed railway, dubbed Whoosh, ultimately lies with him, as the government considers covering its loans using the state budget.

 

2. INDONESIA PLANS MAJOR RAIL EXPANSION OUTSIDE JAVA UNDER PRABOWO’S INFRASTRUCTURE PUSH -- JAKARTA GLOBE

President Prabowo Subianto on Tuesday pledged to expand Indonesia’s railway network beyond the island of Java in a bid to improve interregional connectivity and reduce the country’s high logistics costs.

1. FEASIBILITY STUDY ON CHINA-LAO EXPRESSWAY -- VIENTIANE TIMES

A feasibility study is being conducted on an expressway linking the Boten International Checkpoint, on the Chinese border, to Nateuy in Luang Namtha province. The project will connect inland regions with foreign markets.

 

2. STRATEGIES TO BOLSTER ECONOMY -- VIENTIANE TIMES

The government is discussing ways to improve the job market, allocation of state land for residential use, development of rubber production, managing the border area and strengthening the Lao currency

1. TINO MAKES 7TH LANDFALL IN PALAWAN; NEW CYCLONE MAY ENTER PAR FRIDAY -- PNA

Typhoon Tino (international name Kalmaegi) maintained its strength early Wednesday after making another landfall in Palawan province, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) reported.

 

2. NGCP RESTORES 5 TRANSMISSION LINES, 5 STILL DOWN -- PNA

The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) has restored five transmission lines in the Visayas and Mindanao, while two others are partly energized, and five are still unavailable due to the impact of Typhoon Tino (international name Kalmaegi).

 

THAILAND

 

1. THAILAND ON HIGH ALERT AS TYPHOON KALMAEGI APPROACHES -- THE NATION

Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul has urgently instructed all provincial governors and the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) to closely monitor Typhoon Kalmaegi, which is expected to bring heavy rainfall and potential flooding to Thailand from November 7-9, 2025.

 

2. PHEU THAI UNVEILS NEW CAMPAIGN -- BANGKOK POST

The Pheu Thai Party is set to unveil a new election campaign focused on economic relief and the financial stability of households.

 

VIETNAM

 

1. ELECTRIC BUS SERVICES TO LINK AIRPORT -- VIETNAMPLUS

Authorities will launch the first electric bus route in Ho Chi Minh City’s Con Dao district in December. The route will connect the central area of Con Dao with Co Ong Airport.

 

2. HANOI EXPO TO PROMOTE FARM TECHNOLOGIES -- VIETNAMPLUS

Hanoi will host the 25th International Agricultural Exhibition from November 12 to 16, with the participation of about 100 local and international exhibitors. Modern agricultural machinery, organic fertilisers and high-yield seeds will be on display.
