GSF Mission: SNCC Issues High-Level Alert

02/10/2025 03:11 AM

SEPANG, Oct 2 (Bernama) -- The Sumud Nusantara Command Centre (SNCC) has issued a high-level alert following the attempted interception of the Global Sumud Flotilla (GSF) by several vessels believed to be Zionist-owned, which are making a formation to block the humanitarian mission from reaching Gaza.

SNCC director-general Datuk Dr Sani Araby Abdul Alim Araby confirmed the situation, stating that the centre has received 10 separate reports from ships carrying Malaysian activists.

“All are advised to monitor the latest developments via the live tracker and CCTV,” he announced through SNCC’s social media channels.

It is learnt that the Alma ship, carrying three Malaysians, namely Sul Aidil Sudi, Ahmad Musa Al Nuwayri Kamaruzaman, and Iylia Balqis Suhaimi, along with prominent environmental and humanitarian activist Greta Thunberg, issued a yellow alert at 7.33 pm Gaza time.

A total of 23 Malaysians participating in the mission are continuing their journey towards Gaza.

Live footage broadcast by SNCC shows participants aboard several vessels donning life jackets in preparation for any emergency.

The flotilla, having already passed into Red Zone R3, is now heading toward Red Zone R2 - an area deemed to be at high risk of interception by Israeli forces.

The GSF, which is delivering humanitarian aid and carrying international activists to Gaza, is expected to enter Red Zone R2 at approximately 4.08 am Malaysian time (11.08 pm Gaza time) on Oct 2, barring any interference.

Meanwhile, more than 10 media personnel remain stationed at SNCC headquarters to provide continuous updates on the mission, which is expected to reach Gaza’s coastline around 6.32 pm Malaysian time (1.32 pm Gaza time) on Oct 2.
