KUALA LUMPUR, July 23 (Bernama) --  Malaysia and Brunei Darussalam have reaffirmed their commitment to resolving longstanding issues outlined in the 2009 Exchange of Letters (EOL), particularly those concerning land and maritime boundaries.

This came following the 26th Meeting of the Implementation of the Exchange of Letters between Malaysia and Brunei Darussalam (EOL-26), said Malaysia’s Foreign Ministry in a statement Wednesday.

The meeting was co-chaired by Malaysia’s Foreign Minister, Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan, and Brunei's Minister of Foreign Affairs II, Dato Seri Setia Haji Erywan bin Pehin Datu Pekerma Jaya Haji Mohd Yusof.

During the meeting, the ministers exchanged views on further enhancing economic cooperation for the benefit of both countries.

The visit underscored the longstanding and special relationship between Malaysia and Brunei Darussalam and set the stage for the 26th Annual Leaders’ Consultation, which Malaysia will host next month.

The statement was issued following the conclusion of Erywan's two-day working visit to Malaysia, which ended today.
