TEHRAN, July 19 (Bernama-Xinhua) -- At least 21 people were killed and 37 others injured on Saturday as a bus overturned on an intercity road in Iran's southern Fars province, Xinhua reported.
According to the official news agency IRNA, the incident occurred on the road from the counties of Firuzabad to Kavar at 11:00 a.m. local time (0730 GMT).
Three teams of rescuers were immediately sent to the scene upon receiving the incident's report, the IRNA quoted Managing Director of the provincial Red Crescent Society Hossein Darvishi as saying.
He added that all those injured were transferred to medical centres and the dead were handed over to law enforcement forces.
Fars Governor Hosseinali Amiri called for investigations into the incident and a precise report on the cause.
