HANOI, July 3 (Bernama-VNA) -- Vietnam’s Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and his spouse will lead a high-level Vietnamese delegation to Brazil from July 4 to 8 to attend the expanded BRICS Summit and carry out bilateral engagements.
The visit is being made at the invitation of Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, Vietnam News Agency (VNA) reported, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The 17th BRICS Summit will be held in Rio de Janeiro on July 6 to 7 under Brazil’s presidency.
This year’s gathering marks the first time the bloc -- originally Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa -- convenes as an expanded grouping.
Vietnam was admitted as a BRICS “partner country” earlier this month, gaining access to summit discussions and partnerships for development collaboration.
