REPS, EXPERTS FROM MORE THAN 80 COUNTRIES TO PARTICIPATE IN KAZANFORUM 2024

KUALA LUMPUR, May 7 (Bernama) -- Representatives and experts from more than 80 countries have confirmed their participation in the XV International Economic Forum Russia – Islamic World: KazanForum 2024 from May 14 to 19 in Russia. 

KazanForum 2024 secretariat, in a statement today, said among the Organisation of Islamic Countries (OIC) that will be represented in the forum include the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Bahrain, Malaysia, Turkiye and Iran.

According to the secretariat, this year’s KazanForum will host an International Property Market (IPM) exhibition for the first time.

“The property market will be attended by companies from the East, Africa, Central and East Asia showcasing the latest business solutions, advanced technologies, co-design and experience in a 15,000-metre-square exhibition space in Kazan.

“Developers, architects, investors, financial institutions and companies will present their potential and services in the field of real estate, construction, design and urbanism,” it said.

The secretariat said the exhibition, which will begin on May 15, will provide an opportunity to learn more about the international construction, property market and industry trends, as well as to acquire effective business contacts.

 The statement said besides business events, KazanForum 2024 also includes cultural and sports events.

KazanForum participants will be able to learn about the latest innovations in Islamic fashion and opportunities for its promotion in different countries at the Modest Fashion Day Festival.

The programme includes shows of modest fashion designers from Russia and Southeast Asia.

Experts will discuss the prospects and challenges of the modern industry of decent fashion from the point of view of communications, business and intercultural dialogue, the statement added.

Meanwhile, the Kazan Hockey Cup, a hockey tournament of the Islamic Countries Hockey Development Organisation, will be held in Kazan as part of KazanForum. 

The tournament will be held from May 11 to 15 with 13 countries participating.

The final hockey match will take place on May 15, and forum guests will be able to attend and cheer for their country's team, the secretariat said.

“The Islamic Countries Hockey Development Organisation was established in 2023 in Kazan and is aimed at mutual cooperation between citizens of different countries, cultural exchange and sports promotion,” the secretariat added.

On May 18, the statement said, participants of the Yunus Akhmetzyanov International Tournament of Young Chefs of Islamic Countries 2024 will discover new opportunities for halal cuisine and compete for the title of the best cook.

It will bring together the most outstanding international chefs who use their skills and rational methods to turn the culture of cooking into an art.

Forum participants will be able to taste the works of halal cuisine masters from different countries, it added.

According to the KazanForum secretariat, for women, one of the most important events at KazanForum 2024 is the Women's Outlook track from May 15 to 17, which will bring together famous foreign speakers from almost 80 countries.

As part of the cultural programme, KazanForum participants will be able to visit the UNESCO World Heritage sites – historical, architectural and artistic museum-reserves "Kazan Kremlin" with a unique cathedral mosque Kul Sharif and "Island-town Sviyazhsk", museums, exhibitions and theatres.

An excursion to the "Northern Mecca", a historical and architectural UNESCO World Heritage Site and the northernmost point of Islamic culture spreading, the ancient city of Bolgar, will be organised for KazanForum guests, the statement said.
