BERLIN, May 7 (Bernama-dpa) -- Bayern Munich are expected to generate around €150 million (US$176.5 million) in revenue from the Champions League despite missing out on the final, reported German Press Agency (dpa).
The Bavarians were eliminated from the title contention on Wednesday after a 6-5 defeat on aggregate to Paris Saint-Germain.
The French side will now face Arsenal and will be aiming for a second consecutive title and a prize money of €25 million (US$29.4 million), which is awarded to the winner.
Bayern, meanwhile, are set to receive around €83.4 million (US$97.9 million) from UEFA's prize fund for reaching the semi-finals.
In addition, the club is to receive approximately €40 million (US$47 million) in performance-based bonuses, as well as ticket revenue from a total of seven sold-out home games.
The Bundesliga champions were held to a 1-1 draw by PSG at home in a game overshadowed by controversial refereeing decisions against them.
Goalkeeper and captain Manuel Neuer admitted that "we didn't have that killer instinct in attack tonight.
"We may not have had that many clear-cut chances, but we certainly had the opportunity to win the match. We were close to the final but couldn't get over the line. If we'd had a key moment and scored the goal, it's a different story. Unfortunately our goal came a bit too late."
