KUALA LUMPUR, May 28 (Bernama) -- National sprinter Muhammad Azeem Mohd Fahmi managed to finish first in the first round of the 100 metres of the NCAA Chapmpionship in Lexington, Kentucky, the United States today.
His time of 10.13 seconds (s), his best this season, puts him on the right track to challenge his own national record of 10.09 s set during the Under-20 World Athletics Championship in Cali, Colombia in 2022.
He placed 12th overall out of the 47 sprinters in his event today, and will compete in the quarterfinals on Saturday.
Meanwhile, Athletics Malaysia posted on Facebook urging Muhammad Azeem to continue to focus in his sport and that the association was always behind him in his efforts to bring glory to Malaysia at the international stage.
