Toshiba Expands Digital Isolators Lineup For Industrial Equipment

KUALA LUMPUR, May 28 (Bernama) -- Toshiba Electronic Devices & Storage Corporation (Toshiba) has expanded its digital isolators lineup with the launch of the DCL54xx01A series of quad-channel high-speed standard digital isolators for industrial equipment.

The new series comprises 10 products housed in an SOIC16-W package and designed to support a maximum operating temperature of 125 degrees Celsius. Volume shipments have commenced.

According to Toshiba in a statement, the growing adoption of silicon carbide (SiC) and gallium nitride (GaN) power devices in industrial equipment has increased demand for isolation devices capable of stable signal transmission under high-temperature operating conditions.

The company said its proprietary magnetic coupling isolation transmission technology enables the new digital isolators to achieve common mode transient immunity of 150 kilovolts per microsecond (kV/μs), supporting stable equipment operation in electrically noisy environments.

The products are available in multiple channel configurations, including four forward and zero reverse channels, three forward and one reverse channel, and two forward and two reverse channels, allowing deployment across industrial automation applications such as  I/O interfaces, motor control,  and inverters.

Toshiba said the new series complements its existing DCL341x0B digital isolator lineup, which is designed for lower power consumption and mid-speed communication applications.

The company said it will continue developing isolation devices for industrial and automotive applications to support stable communication and control systems while contributing to carbon neutrality initiatives.
