NEW YORK, May 28 (Bernama-Xinhua) -- The US dollar increased in late trading on Wednesday, reported Xinhua.
The dollar index, which measures the greenback against six major peers, gained 0.04 per cent to 99.21 at 3 pm (1900 GMT).
In late New York trading, the euro declined to US$1.1631 from US$1.1635 in the previous session, and the British pound declined to US$1.3430 from US$1.3445 in the previous session.
The US dollar bought 159.51 Japanese yen, higher than 159.33 Japanese yen of the previous session. The US dollar rose to 0.7868 Swiss francs from 0.7857 Swiss francs, and it increased to 1.3835 Canadian dollars from 1.3813 Canadian dollars. The US dollar decreased to 9.2972 Swedish kronor from 9.3198 Swedish kronor.
