Mother And Two Children Killed In Dungun Crash Laid To Rest

BANDAR PERMAISURI, March 24 (Bernama) -- The remains of a mother and her two children, who were killed in an accident at Kilometre 59 of Jalan Jerangau-Jabor at Felda Jerangau near Dungun yesterday, were laid to rest today.

Nurul Hafizah Shaary, 39, and her two children, Muhammad Redzuan Arash Mohamad Redzuan, 13, and Nur Radya Athalia, 4, were buried in a common grave at Kampung Sungai Tong Muslim Cemetery in Setiu at 6.15 pm.

Earlier, the remains were brought to Masjid Ar-Ridhwan Sungai Tong for funeral rites after Asar prayers.

More than 200 people, comprising family members, relatives and friends, were present to pay their last respects.

In the 6 pm incident, Nurul Hafizah, an agent at a water and air filtration company, was travelling with her four children on their way home after attending her younger sibling’s wedding.

However, the Perodua Aruz sports utility vehicle they were travelling in lost control before veering off the road and crashing into a water pipe and an electricity pole.

Two of her other children, Nur Raesha Amanda, 14, and Nur Rakhlis Aral Yn, 9, were injured in the crash and are now being treated at the hospital.
