Malaysians In Egypt Advised To Avoid Civil Unrest, Large Presence Of Security Forces

KUALA LUMPUR, March 1 (Bernama) -- The Embassy of Malaysia in Cairo is advising all Malaysians in Egypt to avoid areas where there is civil unrest or large presence of security forces. 

According to a consular notice uploaded to the Embassy of Malaysia in Cairo Facebook page, Malaysians are advised to carry with them at all times personal identification documents such as passports, visas, and student cards that are valid.

“Refrain from writing or spreading unverified information that could be interpreted as disrupting public order in violation of local laws,” the notice read.

The notice also advises Malaysians to stay alert to the latest developments and instructions from the Egyptian authorities, to refer to and check the latest travel information issued by airlines, and to remain calm and obtain information from verified sources. 

Malaysians are also reminded to be vigilant at all times and to adhere to timely instructions from local authorities, the notice read.
