PUTRAJAYA, Feb 27 (Bernama) -- Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim today spent time with media practitioners and influencers during the "Breaking of Fast Ceremony with Media Personnel and Influencers" at the Seri Perdana Complex here.

The Prime Minister, dressed in a blue Baju Melayu, spent time mingling with over 350 guests in attendance and joined them in listening to a Ramadan tazkirah (religious talk) titled "Ramadan: Fastabiqul Khairat" (Racing to Do Good) delivered by Al-Fadhil Ustaz Harryanto Rizal Rokman.

At the event, 10 media personnel, including veterans facing health issues and financial hardships, received contributions from the Tabung Kasih@HAWANA fund to help ease their burden ahead of Aidilfitri.

The contributions were presented by Fahmi as a token of appreciation for the service and dedication of media practitioners in delivering authentic information to the people and contributing to the development of national discourse.

The media practitioners who received contributions at the ceremony were Ahmad Muliady Ab Majid from the Malaysian National News Agency (Bernama), Norlee Mohd Sapari (Sinar Harian), Nasri Abdullah (Berita Harian), Yusman Yunus (Utusan), Md Sharif Haron (New Straits Times), Shukri Mohamad (Media Selangor), Muhammad Fauzi Mohamed (Sumber Kini), Shaukei Kahar (RTM), Nurfarahin Jamsari (Media Prima), and Shahril Azman Mohd Zain (Media Mulia).

Since its introduction in April 2023, Tabung Kasih@HAWANA has benefited 658 media practitioners nationwide, reflecting the MADANI Government’s continuous commitment to safeguarding the welfare of the media community, especially those in need of assistance.

The initiative is implemented by the Ministry of Communications through Bernama and was launched in conjunction with the National Journalists' Day (HAWANA) 2023 celebration.
