PUTRAJAYA, Jan 31 (Bernama) -- The Higher Education Ministry (MOHE) is in the process of reviewing relevant Acts before fully taking over the implementation of Form Six and matriculation programmes, its minister, Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abd Kadir said.
"It’s more towards the need to review from the aspect of existing Acts. For instance, there is an Act in the MOHE today that we need to include Form Six and matriculation.
"Previously, whatever is related to Form Six and matriculation is under the Education Ministry. So what we need to do is step by step,” he told reporters after attending the Jom Masuk Universiti (JMU) Carnival 2026 here today when asked about the developments on the pre-university structuring under his ministry.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim had announced on Jan 20 that the MOHE would fully take over the pre-university education system involving Form Six and matriculation from this year, making students of both programmes officially tertiary students.
