KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 23 (Bernama) -- The administration of the MADANI Government, under the leadership of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, has successfully achieved many milestones in national development as it enters its third year.

Despite facing various challenges, the achievements resulting from the hard work of Anwar, who is also the Finance Minister, the Cabinet, and supported by the full dedication of civil servants and the people, have successfully steered Malaysia towards a more glorious path today.

At the domestic level, the government's priority is to ensure the welfare of the people, especially concerning the cost of living, fighting corruption and leakage, and restructuring the economic fundamentals to ensure the country is on the best track to navigate the global economic and geopolitical landscape.

To this end, various plans and agendas have been implemented, positively impacting the lives of the people, including the Sumbangan Asas Rahmah (SARA), a targeted cash aid programme for those truly in need, which has now been expanded to 5.4 million recipients, including 700,000 eKasih recipients and 4.7 million Sumbangan Tunai Rahmah (STR) recipients.

Through Budget 2025, the allocation for STR and SARA has been increased to RM13 billion, compared to RM10 billion previously, with the annual SARA aid raised to RM2,100 compared to RM1,200 last year.

Additionally, the BUDI MADANI RON95 Programme (BUDI95) allows all Malaysian citizens with a MyKad aged 16 and above who hold an active driving license to purchase subsidised RON95 up to 300 litres per month.

Also given attention by the MADANI Government is the Bantuan Awal Persekolahan (BAP) or Early Schooling Aid of RM150 for every student from Year 1 to Form 4, involving an allocation of RM791.25 million, and the implementation of the Public Service Remuneration System (SSPA) for civil servants, as well as the enforcement of the Minimum Wage Order (PGM) 2024 for the private sector, through two revisions, from RM1,200 to RM1,500 and subsequently RM1,700.

The MADANI Government has also clearly championed the fate of rice farmers, including raising the Paddy Purchase Floor Price to RM1,500 in 2025, following increases in 2022 and 2023, in addition to increasing the Paddy Price Subsidy Scheme Rate to RM500 in 2023.

The government also continuously holds the Programme MADANI Rakyat (PMR) according to zones to transparently showcase the achievements, policy progress, and outcomes of 2025 initiatives to the public, besides providing various direct services by ministries and agencies to facilitate public access.

Commenting on the overall achievements of the MADANI Government, Professor Datuk Dr Sivamurugan Pandian, a lecturer at the Centre for Social Science Studies at Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), said the encouraging success achieved is the result of the political stability successfully established, along with clear policies and the commitment shown by the civil service and the private sector.

He said the political stability enjoyed today was not achieved overnight but was driven by the concerted efforts of Anwar and the Cabinet to restore the country's condition after a period of political uncertainty that previously saw three prime ministers change in a short period.

“The MADANI Government, formed through the wisdom of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah (at that time), put an end to the political turmoil, public and investor anxiety, and administrative inefficiency.

“With the political stability felt under the MADANI Government, it made it easier for the Prime Minister and his Cabinet to focus on economic and social issues, the country's position internationally, and the fight against corruption.

"I am of the view that the single greatest achievement of the MADANI Government in three years is achieving political stability, which was something that the three previous governments failed to achieve when we faced various political dramas that threatened the course of national administration in 2018," he said.

A similar sentiment was echoed by socio-political analyst from Universiti Malaya, Professor Datuk Dr Awang Azman Awang Pawi, who sees the stability created by the MADANI Government clearly resulting in increased aid and allocations for infrastructure facilities being restored and channelled for the overall benefit of the people.

“All this could be done thanks to the savings generated through the brave and unpopular steps taken by the MADANI government, namely the targeting of diesel and RON95 subsidies, which brought back the 'lost resources' to the people and national development,” he said.

The MADANI Government not only champions people's issues domestically but also loudly advocates for the plight of the people of Gaza, who are oppressed by the Zionist regime, on the international stage, in addition to using the ASEAN Chairmanship as Malaysia's best platform to directly voice various issues, including Palestine, to US President Donald Trump.

Malaysia concluded its ASEAN Chairmanship 2025 with several important achievements, including the signing of the Kuala Lumpur Peace Agreement between Cambodia and Thailand and the official entry of Timor-Leste as the 11th ASEAN member state.

Furthermore, Malaysia's voice in raising the suffering of the people of Gaza was also expressed through the country's participation in the Global Sumud Flotilla (GSF), an international humanitarian convoy crossing the ocean that gathered over 40 small ships and 500 activists from 44 countries to deliver aid to Gaza.

The successful repatriation of all 23 Malaysian activists detained by the Israeli regime while participating in the GSF mission also highlighted the efficiency of the government's cross-border diplomacy under Anwar's leadership, and amidst the complex geopolitical landscape of the Middle East, the closed-door negotiation approach through third countries like Jordan, Qatar, and Turkiye highlighted Malaysia's mature, principled diplomacy, capable of balancing global humanitarian demands with national security interests.

Geostrategic expert Professor Dr Azmi Hassan is of the opinion that the Prime Minister's presence and voice on international issues, including Gaza, humanitarian affairs, and Malaysia's role in ASEAN, have successfully raised the country's profile as a more respected regional player.

“Malaysia is not lost in global issues. Our voice is clear, firm, and consistent. This affects the international perception of the stability and principles we uphold.

“The Prime Minister’s arguments are also acceptable (when voicing a view) because they are based on law and human rights,” he said, adding that there are many other achievements Malaysia has recorded under Anwar's leadership.

Furthermore, Anwar's leadership also received international recognition when he was named the 10th most influential Muslim figure, up from 15th place last year (2025), in the 2026 edition of The World’s 500 Most Influential Muslims, published by The Royal Islamic Strategic Studies Centre (RISSC), Jordan.

The Prime Minister also received the Global Islamic Finance Award (GIFA) 2025, which is recognition of his leadership and Malaysia's position as a global leader in the Islamic finance sector.

Anwar was sworn in as the 10th Prime Minister on November 24, 2022.

On January 19, 2023, Anwar introduced Malaysia MADANI as an effort to lead and restore the country's dignity and glory on the world stage. MADANI is anchored on six pillars: Sustainability, Well-being, Innovation, Respect, Trust and Compassion.
