KUANTAN, Nov 6 (Bernama) –--The Pahang government has recorded state revenue collection of RM1 billion for four consecutive years.

Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail said the achievement proves the efficiency of the administration as well as the high commitment of civil servants and taxpayers in successfully implementing the state's development agenda.

“This morning, I was informed by the State Financial Officer that the state government's revenue has reached RM996 million. But this evening, I can confirm that we have successfully achieved the revenue collection target of RM1 billion for this year," he said at a press conference during the launch of Visit Malaysia 2026-Pahang First at the RTM Pahang’s Darul Makmur Auditorium here today.

He said the success also allowed his side to return the surplus revenue to the people, such as special financial assistance to state civil servants equivalent to one month's salary.

"The original target for state revenue was RM1 billion, but I have issued a challenge: if we manage to achieve RM1.6 billion, the state government will increase special financial assistance to civil servants," he said.

Commenting on today's event, Wan Rosdy said Pahang continues to demonstrate excellent performance in the tourism sector, having received over 11 million tourists as of September this year.

He said it is also targeting 13.74 million tourists next year in conjunction with Visit Malaysia 2026.

" Insya-Allah, this target can be achieved because we have planned, worked hard, and implemented the Visit Malaysia-Pahang First promotion this year, and we are also making early preparations to encourage more tourists, both domestic and international, to come to Pahang.

"Among the main foreign tourists to Pahang are from Indonesia, Singapore, China, and European countries," he also said.

He added that the target is expected to provide economic benefits to industry players in the tourism sector, with tourist spending estimated to reach RM13.4 billion.
