Pahang Sultan To Join Legends In Walk To Celebrate Malaysia’s Sports Heritage

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 30 (Bernama) -- The Sultan of Pahang, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah, is scheduled to participate in the ‘Walk With Al-Sultan Abdullah: The King of Sports’ event at Stadium Merdeka here on Nov 5.

The event, organised by sports public relations and branding agency ShekhinahPR in collaboration with the Al-Sultan Abdullah Foundation (YASA), will also feature Malaysian sporting legends including Datuk Santokh Singh (football), Datuk Rashid Sidek (badminton), Nor Saiful Zaini Nasiruddin (hockey), G. Shanti (athletics) and Datuk Leong Mun Yee (diving).

ShekhinahPR chief executive officer Datuk Christopher Raj said in a statement today that the main objective of the event is to celebrate Malaysia’s sporting heritage by recognising the contributions of athletes who have helped shape the nation’s history.

He said the event also aims to promote a healthy lifestyle through an inclusive walking activity that is accessible to all, while strengthening ties between the royal institution and the country’s sports legends.

“His Royal Highness Al-Sultan Abdullah’s participation in this event reflects the continued recognition of sports as a cornerstone of national identity, pride, and unity.

“Walk With Al-Sultan Abdullah: The King of Sports is expected to be a meaningful celebration of Malaysia’s history, sportsmanship, and national unity, reminding us that the most significant steps are those we take together,” he said.
