KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 14 (Bernama) -- Bersatu has sacked Tasek Gelugor MP Datuk Wan Saifulruddin Wan Jan and suspended Machang MP Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad Kamal’s membership for one term.
Its Disciplinary Board said the action was taken for breaching Clause 9.1.4 of the Bersatu Constitution as well as the party’s Code of Ethics and Conduct.
It added that four division chiefs, namely Mohd Azrudin Md Idris (Hang Tuah Jaya), Mohd Faizal Asmar (Pengerang), Mohd Fadhli Ismail (Ipoh Timur), and Mohd Isa Mohd Saidi (Ampang), were also sacked.
“The Disciplinary Board investigated the complaints received and summoned the respondents for a hearing session on Oct 8, before making its decision in accordance with Clause 22.5 of the Bersatu Constitution.
“The board reached its decision based on the findings of the investigation and careful consideration, free from external interference and without bias,” it said in a statement today.
The board also said that those found guilty of disciplinary breaches and penalised have the right to appeal to the Appeals Board within 14 days.
