MELAKA, Oct 2 (Bernama) -- The final leg of the MADANI Rakyat Programme (PMR) 2025 will take place in Merlimau, Jasin, with Merlimau Polytechnic chosen as the venue from Oct 17 to 19.

The PMR 2025 Secretariat said the national-level programme is an initiative of the Prime Minister’s Office through the Performance Acceleration Coordination Unit as the lead secretariat, in strategic partnership with the Defence Ministry and the Melaka government as co-organisers.

The Melaka edition carries the theme “Aspirasi MADANI, Menjamin Pertahanan dan Kedaulatan Negara”, highlighting the commitment to safeguarding the nation based on the principles of Total Defence, Joint Defence and the Whole of Government, Whole of Society approach.

“These principles go beyond the military aspect to include the well-being, resilience and solidarity of the people, anchored on the six pillars of Malaysia MADANI,” the secretariat said in a statement.

It added that Melaka was selected not only for its international reputation as a heritage and cultural tourism destination but also for its progressive character, driven by innovation, technological growth and focus on people’s welfare in line with Malaysia MADANI aspirations.

As the closing edition of PMR 2025, the Melaka programme will feature fresh, inclusive and targeted activities to cater to local community needs.

Key attractions include federal and state government service counters, community well-being initiatives, MADANI Sales, discounts on traffic summonses and free health checks.

There will also be employment opportunities, a helmet exchange programme by the Road Transport Department, military displays, concerts by local artistes, a ‘kenduri rakyat’ and a petting zoo.

The PMR 2025 series has reached more than one million Malaysians nationwide, demonstrating the government’s commitment to delivering services directly to the people.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is expected to officiate the Melaka edition on Oct 19, accompanied by top leaders from the federal and state governments.

The public is invited to attend and enjoy the range of services and activities prepared for them.

The programme will run from 9 am to 11 pm on Friday and Saturday, and from 9 am to 6 pm on Sunday.
