AEON Credit Service's Net Profit Rises To RM72.23 Mln In 2Q

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 29 (Bernama) -- AEON Credit Service (M) Bhd posted a higher net profit of RM72.23 million in the second quarter ended Aug 31, 2025 (2Q 2025), compared with RM71.16 million in 2Q 2024.

Revenue increased 14.1 per cent year-on-year (y-o-y) to RM617.88 million from RM541.43 million previously, mainly driven by stronger loan and financing growth, the company said in a filing with Bursa Malaysia today.

Its gross financing receivables stood at RM15.15 billion as at Aug 31, 2025, up by RM1.95 billion from a year earlier.

“The net financing receivables after allowance for impairment loss stood at RM14.29 billion as at Aug 31, 2025, compared with RM12.48 billion last year, while the non-performing loans (NPL) ratio rose to 2.49 per cent from 2.37 per cent previously.

“Interest expense in 2Q 2025 was higher compared to 2Q 2024, mainly due to increased borrowings in line with receivables growth. The nominal value of borrowings stood at RM11.53 billion as at Aug 31, 2025 versus RM10.17 billion a year earlier,” it said.

The company added that total transaction and financing volume for the financial period-to-date grew 11.2 per cent y-o-y to RM4.59 billion.

For the first half of 2025 (1H 2025), AEON Credit Service’s net profit fell to RM149.78 million from RM177.57 million in 1H 2024, while revenue increased to RM1.22 billion from RM1.06 billion previously.

On prospects, the group said it will maintain a cautious stance, given the ongoing global trade and tariff uncertainties, geopolitical tensions, inflationary pressures and volatility in financial markets.

It noted that emphasis would remain on growing quality assets, closely monitoring credit risks in financing portfolios, and enhancing information technology capabilities to improve operational efficiencies.

“The group will also build on the AEON Group of Companies’ ecosystem in Malaysia to expand customer reach,” it added.
